We all search for purpose, hope, and meaning in life. The Gospel, which means "Good News," offers answers to life’s deepest questions and a pathway to peace and joy through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
What is the Gospel?
The Gospel is the story of God's love for humanity. It begins with the truth that we are all created in the image of God, uniquely designed to have a relationship with Him. However, our sins—choices that go against God's will—separate us from Him. The Bible says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
But God, in His great love, made a way for us to be reconciled to Him. He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world. Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rose from the dead three days later, conquering sin and death forever. Through faith in Jesus, we are forgiven and given the gift of eternal life.
How Can I Receive This Good News?
God’s gift of salvation is free, but it requires a response. Romans 10:9 says, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Here’s how you can respond to the Gospel:
A Prayer to Begin Your Journey
If you’re ready to start a relationship with Jesus, you can pray something like this:
"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You into my heart and life. I trust You as my Savior and follow You as my Lord. Amen."
